Family Health Center
Doulas function as midwives and pregnancy coaches to ensure at-risk women enjoy healthy pregnancies, deliveries and post partum.
The Doula Program provides support to pregnant women. A Doula (pronounced DOO-Lah) is a trained paraprofessional whose primary function is to offer support for both the mother and the child during pregnancy, delivery, and the weeks after the birth. Doulas counsel pregnant women and their families on the birthing process, breast-feeding, developing the mother-child relationship, and fetal/infant development.
Yoga Classes are provided every Friday at 1:00.
The goal of the program is to ensure a healthy pregnancy and assist the pregnant women in bonding with the fetus by providing information about the changes in her body and the growth of the fetus. The woman is given the information and opportunity to plan the birth of her child. The Doula advocates for the mom and attends the birth.
